Transition period granted for nutrition labeling and list of ingredients - E label wine postponed

The target date of the EU for nutrition labeling and other information on wine labels, has changed, respectively a transition period was granted. Thus, the wines of this vintage 2023 are exempt from the EU regulation 2021/2117.

Therefore, short relaxation for all wine producers.
According to the correction of the labeling regulation, the following now applies:

Wine that complies with the labeling requirements under Article 119 of Regulation (EU) No 1308/2013 applicable before December 8, 2023, and aromatized wine products that comply with the labeling requirements under Regulation (EU) No 251/2014 applicable before December 8, 2023, and that was produced before that date may continue to be placed on the market until those stocks are exhausted."

France and Italy have successfully lobbied for wine to be considered made as soon as it is in the wine barrel. Therefore, the 2023 vintage is not affected by this regulation.

This gives many winegrowers a little breathing space and they can therefore now prepare for this innovation in peace.
